Save Lives by Design

Our Brains, Bodies & Buildings Interact:

Design Must Serve People, Purpose, Place & the Planet

Research demonstrates that the impact of place on people is measurable. Our goal is to use the latest knowledge of the brain and body to inform design that serves our experience, economies and environment. Our studies, workshops, and courses have helped leaders, facility owners and designers to create more effective places and better experiences for all users - and saved them money and time.

We translate biomedical knowledge into design principles for all settings and building types from the home and office, to hospitals and urban settings.

Our journey began in a hospital, watching nurses and doctors working tirelessly to save their patients in the midst of alarming noise, glaring lights, and inefficient spaces - and with no room to rest or hear themselves think. With Clinicians for Design and an international team of experts we developed new AIA COVID-19 Front Line Design guidance and a framework for the Hospital of the Future.

Research-based Design

Design ideation and design review with global experts challenge and change current practices.

We translate your ideas along with the latest evidence into design principles, concepts and solutions for any building type and any setting where people use built places.
