Purpose
Vision
Inspire and accelerate the design of environments and systems that enrich human and environmental health.
Mission
Translate clinical, scientific, computational, and design knowhow into better buildings.
Methods
Engage with international subject-matter experts to guide leadership, inform research, expand education, change policies and enhance the design process and outcomes.
Purpose
Subject-matter experts and clinicians can apply their unique insights and experience in the human sciences to enhance design for all users and all settings. By translating this knowledge from our networks of healthcare and research professionals, we challenge the stated norms for design and architecture in all practice settings. We seek to facilitate the next tipping point in medicine, science and architecture to inspire the emergence of a new mode of practice.
The clinical and human sciences increasingly recognize the value of incorporating knowledge from disciplines spanning social, cultural, the humanities and engineering to shape environments that include all peoples and places. We welcome the opportunities that arise from such cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Impact
Out goal is to begin close the gap and encourage exposure across disciplines, thinking differently, and merging our disparate expertise. Ultimately, the design team, users, owners, scientists and healthcare teams may better serve each other and all.
Goals
Provide | Guide | Develop
Provide a unique platform to explore how health delivery systems, technologies and design practices may enhance patient care and serve the future of medical practice;
Guide recommendations for clinically-based design standards to improve wellbeing, facilitate the human-technology interface and support human outcomes;
Develop cross-disciplinary knowledge, tools, skills and strategies that offer professionals an insight to each other’s processes and practices.
Objectives
